Playlists are not a promise

Published · GINIE PROD

Playlists take up too many conversations. They are treated as a consecration, sometimes as an entitlement. They are a circulation tool. Nothing more, nothing less.

A serious label does not promise a slot. No serious person can. Playlists move, teams change, tastes change too. Selling a guarantee is selling a fiction.

What we can do is prepare a song to be heard: clear, identified, released at the right time, carried by an image that does not contradict it. Then the world decides. Including playlists. Including nobody.

There is also an audience that does not need a list in order to love. LIVE communities prove it every night. That audience converts badly if you only speak the language of platforms.

We prefer a song that finds its ears slowly to a song that exists only for the length of a curation. The first builds an artist. The second builds a statistic.

You’ve got the sound. Let us hear it.
